Nature Lab is our initiative to research, test and develop shoes in a more sustainable way. This shoe uses the following innovations:
#1 – 3D-Knitted Merino Wool
These shoes are made with 3D-knitted Merino wool, a natural and sustainable material that keeps feet cool. Wool is breathable, moisture-wicking, and odor-resistant without synthetic treatments. The 3D-knit structure reduces waste while allowing air to flow. And when it needs a refresh? Just toss it in the wash. A cooler, lighter, and more sustainable choice for spring and summer.

These shoes come with a size insert, designed to improve fit and reduce returns. Offering half sizes helps, but it also creates stock and production challenges. Instead, we developed a size insert that adjusts the fit by half a size, ensuring a better fit without extra production. If a shoe feels slightly off, this simple solution makes it just right.

At 13, I dreamed of designing shoes. That dream led me to Milan and later to Dale Skofabrikk, where I worked on the Bjørgvin bunad shoe.At the factory, I kept hearing the same question:
“Why isn’t there a comfortable bunad shoe?”
For 17 years, that question stayed with me. Now, bunad culture is changing, and comfort matters more than ever.
That’s why we created EYKR—a bunad shoe made with 3D-knitted Merino wool, breathable, washable, and built for all-day wear. The removable aluminum buckle makes cleaning easy.
After 17 years, the bunad shoe has finally evolved.
