March at Kastel: A Month of Milestones, Sell-Outs & New Season Staples
Even though it still feels a little early, spring is in full bloom here in Oslo — and the warmer weather definitely lifted the energy at Kastel this March. The month was full of meaningful launches, exciting collaborations, and record-breaking sell-outs. We're still recovering from the craziness of it all!
Here’s a look at what shaped the past few weeks:
🇳🇴 Eykr – Bunad Shoes: Sold Out on Preorder!
Status update: all pairs have been delivered, and the feedback has us smiling from ear to ear!
We kicked off the month with a tribute to Norwegian heritage —, our limited-edition Bunad shoe. Seventeen years in the making, this release was deeply personal, and the response was overwhelming. We sold out during the preorder phase, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Preorder is something we’ve done before, but this was the first time it truly took off. Seeing the demand for Eykr confirmed that this approach can be a real way forward — a more sustainable business model where we measure interest before we produce, helping us avoid overproduction and reduce waste. It also creates a closer connection with you — our community — and that’s something we truly value.

🤝 Introducing Sagene by Helene Olafsen – Our First Co-Developed Shoe
March also marked a big milestone: our first-ever co-developed product, created together with Helene Olafsen, one of our long-time ambassadors.
is a colorful, classic sneaker designed to make everyday life a little easier — and a little more fun. From the floral insole to the merino wool 3D-knit upper, it’s filled with small details that matter. It’s also machine washable and perfect for transitional weather — warm when you need it, cool when you don’t.
The campaign was filled with energy, color, and a great team effort. And yes, this one is already taking off too! Preorders are open now, with deliveries expected mid-April (or maybe sooner... but that’s just between us 😉).

🟤 Røros Mud Ankle Boot – Now in Beige
One of our most-loved waterproof styles just got a fresh new color. The Røros Mud ankle boot is now available in , with a white outsole and mudguard — still part of our core waterproof collection and still ready to take on unpredictable spring weather.
We haven’t received lifestyle photos yet, so just for fun, we tested out using AI to visualize them. What do you think? Could AI-generated images help you get a feel for a shoe before launch? We’ve never used it this way before, but it might be a useful tool!
🌞 Voss Is Back for the Season
Spring means it’s time to bring back into rotation. Lightweight, breathable, and made from recycled polyester, this is the ultimate transition shoe — perfect for walking into longer days and lighter outfits.
The Beige women’s sizes are already sold out, but we still have Green and Black ready to go!
👟 Wool Sneakers — Almost Gone!
Our Norwegian wool sneakers continue to be bestsellers — and they’re almost sold out. I’ve been living in my pair lately, especially while biking to work. They keep me warm in the chilly mornings and cool when the temperature rises in the afternoon. And yes — they look so smooth.
If you’ve been eyeing a pair, this is your sign: now’s the time.

March reminded us why we do what we do — making shoes that fit your lifestyle, your rhythm, and the unpredictable Scandinavian weather. And we’re not slowing down. April is packed with excitement:
